President's Welcome

Welcome to the Markham-Unionville Conservative Riding Association webpage.

We are fortunate to have as our Member of Parliament, Mr. Bob Saroya, who has been working hard since being elected in 2015, representing the constituents of our riding.  He has heard your concerns and priorities and has been an avid advocate for you, the residents of Markham-Unionville.  Bob spends much of his time listening to our residents, not only in his constituency office, but on the streets, and by knocking on doors in the riding.

He fighting against the legalization of marijuana and the relaxing of rules around opening new injection sites in Canada. He has also introduced legislation to toughen punishments for those who traffic illegal drugs. Bob Saroya is fighting to keep Markham-Unionville a safe community for our families.

Next year, Canada will be heading into a federal election.  The Conservative Party is ready to lead the country once again with our new leader Andrew Scheer.   Bob was proud to support Andrew’s vision for our country and party. Andrew is committed to unify the country, stop the growing debt which is out of control by balancing the budget, and to put the economy back on track.  Our association is optimistic about the future of our Conservative movement in Canada with Andrew at its helm.

Our association is made up of volunteers committed to re-electing our very own Conservative Member of Parliament, Bob Saroya.

Why I Choose Bob Saroya?

Dr. Kui-Wai Li , April 20, 2019

Introduction

The first issue should by why electing a Conservative politician is important for Markham-Unionville? To start with, Conservative principles of promoting business and improving personal drive and achievement are more suitable to Canada as this is a large, land-intensive country and the abundance of resources should be deployed appropriately and suitably for the benefit of all. There shall be differences in outcomes, but opportunities should be created to allow every citizen to have an equal access. Thus, the better alternative is economic growth and prosperity as businesses flourish and employees would have a better chance for jobs. Of course, there is a need to cater for the needy when they are facing difficulties and ensure environment so that sustainable growth can be maintained.
Such a broad principle is relevant in the Markham region and the riding of Markham-Unionville, where there is a mixture of business-developed areas and residential areas. With a population over 100,000 and an area of 89 square kilometers in this riding, there is still much development in various dimensions. Hence, to maintain a good quality of life for residents and prosperity for businesses, economic improvement is the only direction for people residing in this riding.

Bob’s Background

People are an important economic source for the large, land-intensive Canada. Many Canadians are immigrants, though we all come at different historical times. Multi-racial and multi-cultural behavior has become a respectable and acceptable feature in the Canadian economy. As a Canadian citizen or resident, it is not important where one comes from, what counts is how one contributes to Canada as an immigrant. Canada is indeed a place of opportunities where newly arrived immigrants can realize their dreams of setting up their business, raising their family and promoting achievement in Canada.
The Honorable Mr. Bob Saroya is a good example of a successful immigrant whom has made his dream come true. Bob came to Canada as an immigrant decades’ ago. Through his hard work and dedication, he has served the Canadian economy by setting up his business and helped to promote other businesses and residents in the Markham-Unionville riding. His desire to “pay back” and contribute to Canada led him to represent the riding in the 2015 Federal election to the House of Commons. The fact that Bob won the 2015 election was a clear evident that this riding would prefer Conservative principles of hard work and self-discipline, promotion of business and improvement of individuals’ welfare.
Indeed, it is after the 2015 election that Bob extended his community service work to cater to anyone in need in this riding. His work on community service multiplied in various dimensions, typically serving residents in this riding and involved with federal affairs through the Conservative Party as the opposition party.

Bob’s Achievements

Within the riding, Bob’s contribution has been immense and multifaceted. A quick look at his own website (http://bobsaroya.ca) the list of ten services he is providing to the community. Bob does reach out to all individuals whom have contacted him either by phone or by email bob.saroya@parl.gc.ca  and Bob promises to return his contact as soon as possible. Individuals with concerns are free to make appointment with Bob, and his services are free of charge. Through these years, numerous individuals have contacted Bob on a personal basis, and they all left his office satisfied. Among the various services, immigration and passport issues are his expertise. And newly landed immigrants whom need help in getting around would find his various services on social securities useful.
At the federal level and as the elected Member of Parliament, Bob serves as the Associate Shadow Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. This is an important position Bob shall hold once the Conservative Party wins the 2019 election and becomes the majority party in the Parliament. Bob will be carrying out the Conservative Party’s policy on Canada’s immigration, which shall be the key to future prosperity in Canada as human capital forms a major economic resource for growth and development. Bob will be helping to shape Canada’s human capital landscape.
Bob is also a member of the Standing Joint Committee of the Library of Parliament, and the Vice president of the Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group. These additional positions simple show Bob’s ability in handling multiple issues at the federal level and in the riding.
These are nothing but clear evidence that Bob has the suitable and right caliber to be the Member of Parliament representing the Markham-Unionville riding. His experience, exposure and achievement all point to the conclusion that Bob Saroya is the right choice for the Markham-Unionville riding.

Bob’s Personality

How do I find Bob as a person? He is amicable and friendly, talks serious and have a clear mind in numerous issues. When Bob meets with citizens from this riding, Bob is ready and prepared to elaborate on the policies of the Conservative Party. Bob is a very considerate person, always think of others and how he can help others to make improvements. Indeed, with his four years as the elected Member of Parliament for the Markham-Unionville riding, Bob has shown himself to be part of this community, integrating not only residents within the riding, but linking our desires and wishes to the federal government through the policies of the Conservative Party under the leadership of the Honorable Mr. Andrew Scheer.
As a resident of this riding, we do have choice in political elections. What counts most is not how popular the candidate is, nor the candidate’s ethnicity and other orientations, nut the candidate’s willing ness to help residents in this riding though the sacrifice of time and resource. As a politician, Bob is more of a “doer” than a “talker” and works for people in need without asking for returns and rewards. Bob has a warm heart and coupled with his conservative principles and business experience, we have no other choice and need not to look elsewhere, but to elect Bob Saroya as our Member of Parliament in the coming election later in 2019.

Conclusion
Voters are encouraged to contact Bob, and he will reach out to all voters in this riding. Bob will be pleased to reply to all enquiries, especially on the policies of the Conservative party as that shall have great and positive impact on our economic welfare when elected to be the next federal government of Canada. Indeed, it shall be the economic principles of the Conservative Party which shall raise Canada’s economic capacity and capability, thereby benefiting all, especially the young school leavers and job seekers.
